Since 2011, we have led the effort to provide education opportunities for minorities in underserved community. We have been at the forefront of bring social awareness and educational resources to low-income, migrant workers' children and incoming college students in Taizhou, China.

 

Our Mission

We see equal value in all lives. Practically, we believe everyone deserve the chance of receiving education. We are dedicated to provide more education opportunities for minorities. From low-income, migrant family children to poor incoming college students, we focus on people from Taizhou, Zhejiang province in China for now, but ultimately we hope to help individual around the world.

 

The challenge

More and more people agreed that education is the springboard to opportunities in China. However, millions of students in China do not receive necessary (high-quality) education. We, the new generation who understand the importance of education, can make a difference.

 

The opportunity

By focusing on common goal of improving education through innovation - and by providing more educational resources and sharing effective tools and experience - students can form a better learning habit and better prepare for their future career.

 

OUR strategy

TOSCO is committed to help more minorities have the opportunity to receive a high-quality education. We have two programs that work toward this goal. Our newly launched College-Ready Education Program aims to ensure that poor students graduate from high school are prepared to succeed in college. Our Migrant Children Education Program aims to provide more educational resource and bring innovative class experience to those children.

We focus on teaching, learning, and innovation. In each program, volunteers bring their experience from advanced education system (Unites States, UK, Canada, etc.) to the classroom. We take students' feedback seriously and always try to improve their learning experience. We also foster innovation in partner schools and help them bring advanced teaching technology to the classroom. 

 

What We've Achieved

  • Helped more than 200 migrant workers' children and high-school students from low income family
  • Recruited more than 100 volunteer members
  • Raised more than $30,000
  • Organized annual summer camps for 6 consecutive years
  • Formed partnerships with more than 10 leading companies in Taizhou
  • Interviewed/reported by multiple newspapers and Taizhou TV Station
